In Memoriam - Cheryl P. McCahon, PhD, RN, of Chagrin Falls, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2008, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
For more than 45 years, Cheryl was a nurse and health educator with a specialty in gerontological nursing. She was also a community leader and mentor to many in her profession. She recently retired as interim chair of the Cleveland State University School of Nursing. Cheryl made contributions to both the Ohio League for Nursing and the Northeast Region OLN. She served on numerous committees, as President of the NE Region of OLN, and on the OLN Board. She was one of the initiators of the Pre-Summit Conference for new faculty members at the OLN Education Summit and served as faculty for that conference. Her volunteer and elected positions of OLN served a span of 25 years. OLN is fortunate to have been the benefactor of her time, her vision and her devotion to nursing and nursing education.
Cheryl requested that donations be made to the Cleveland Domestic Violence Center (Box 5466, Cleveland, OH 44101) or to two scholarship funds at Cleveland State University: The Curtis Wilson Scholarship Fund or the Moses Cleaveland Scholarship Fund, both at CSU Advancement Office, 2121 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115-2214.
