The purpose of this educational offering is to apply the concepts of validity & reliability to faculty created nursing exams and test items. This program guides a faculty member on a method to blueprint the exam questions, write critical thinking test items and analyze the result of an exam.

Workshop objectives:

  • ·        Describe the theoretical basis for writing critical thinking test items and designing critical thinking exams
  • ·        Create and analyze testing blueprints as a measure of content validity.
  • ·        Write critical thinking items at the application or above cognitive level.
  • ·        Analyze the reliability of an exam through the exam and item analysis process.
