Lorain County Community College was built on Hope's paternals grandparents old farm, so she comments "I basically spent my childhood summers on the LCCC property."  She also added "My grandmother was a teacher and encouraged education, so she would be very proud to see what LCCC has become, especially the nursing program."   Hope also shared  "Jane Mahowald was the first person to hire me as a Nurse Educator, so I consider her my mentor."

In her younger days Hope was a hair model, due to the fact that she started graying at the young age of 17 so she says that she got a lot of free hair color!  Her hobbies include:  jewelry making - "It's my therapy"; and cooking - she loves taking cooking classes and throwing dinner parties and cookouts.  Her favorite vacation spot is Finger Lakes in New York which she says "must do annually."
